Uhuru Academy’s Summer School (virtual since 2016) was created to address this crisis head-on. Since 2010, we’ve empowered thousands of students through dynamic, African-centered education rooted in academic excellence, historical truth, and transformative vision-building. We don’t just teach Black History—we cultivate leadership. We don’t just offer reading and math—we cultivate mastery. We’ve seen scholars as young as 9 years old speak with confidence about Marcus Garvey, create vision boards inspired by Queen Nzinga, and write essays that would humble grown folks. This is not your average summer camp—this is where Black youth wake up, level up, and lead.

Our children are in a battle for their minds, their future, and their sense of self. Too many of our youth are being miseducated, underchallenged, and overlooked in systems that weren’t built to nurture their brilliance. Each summer, while others take a break, too many of our kids fall further behind academically and socially. The lack of culturally-rooted, purposeful summer programming is leaving a dangerous void in our communities—one that threatens the progress and power of future generations.
|
In 2025, we’re continuing that legacy with three high-impact sessions designed for ages 9–16. Each session runs Monday through Friday, from 9AM–12PM EST, with themes that sharpen skills, instill pride, and expand possibilities. Whether it's developing academic strengths, uncovering hidden truths in Afrikan history, or planting seeds of entrepreneurship and life planning, our scholars leave better equipped to navigate and transform the world around them. We provide a safe, culturally-rooted space where Black children don’t just learn—they shine.

Businesses and individuals can help us continue this mission. By becoming a scholarship provider, you are directly investing in the future of our people. We serve families who are working hard but facing real financial barriers. A single donation can open the door for a young scholar to participate in all three sessions—completely free of charge. This is bigger than charity. This is about responsibility, nation-building, and fulfilling our duty to protect and empower the next generation of Afrikan leaders. If you believe in the power of education, the beauty of our children, and the urgency of now—partner with us. Let’s build together.
