The Uhuru Academy Sankofa Math Camp featuring Baba Mugwagwa Sibanze
Statistically, Black children lag behind other demographics when it comes to mathematics. This has led to a shortage of people of color in career fields that involve math and science. We believe that the collective poor performance by children of African descent in math is not due to inferior abilities or a lack of wanting to learn, but from the fact that most Black children, particularly in the United States, are introduced to , and taught math from perspectives that often don't connect with them culturally. The Uhuru Academy Sankofa Math Camp is the solution!
