The Uhuru Academy presents the Spring Break Uhuru Camp!  Never heard of the Uhuru Camp?  Uhuru Camps are held throughout the year, whenever our youth are on "break" from school, to give them the opportunity to learn, have fun, and make new friends from across the globe!  It is truly one of the greatest live virtual education experiences for Black children in the world!

What happens at Uhuru Camp?  Well, each camp is different!  Our Spring Break 2024 camp promises to be a learning experience like no other!  At Uhuru Camp, students will learn/experience:

• Black History - Our Sankofa 4 Success Black History curriculum is transformative, informative, and fun!  Students learn our story from the dawn of civilization to today!
• Academic Enrichment - Each day at camp, students will focus on a specific core subject that will be taught by experienced and energetic teachers from all over the world!  
• Life Skills, games, prizes, and rewards - Students engage in interactive life skills activities and fun, thought provoking games.  They also have opportunities to earn prizes and awards for successfully completing tasks

In addition, students also receive camp T-shirts and other merch depending upon the level of sponsorships that we attain for the camp!

Daily Schedule: (This schedule reflects Monday thru Thursday, that Friday (04/05/24) will our Awards Celebration)

• 9am - 915am: Ancestor Reverence
• 915am - 930am:  Turn - Up Exercise!
• 930am - 945am: Afrikan Proverb of the Day
• 945am - 1000am: Break I
• 1000am - 1045am: Afrikan History (Includes interactive games, lessons, and discussions)
• 1045am - 1100am: Break II
• 1100am - 1145am: Academic Enrichment/Skill Building
• 1145am - 1200pm: Community
• 12:00pm: Dismiss

We begin the week focused solely on OUR STORY!  Uhuru Academy Co-Founder, Baba Amin Ojuok, brings over 30 years of experience to the table as students are taken on an interactive learning adventure that spans from the dawn of civilization to modern times!

Black History & Reading Camp!

On Day 3, it's all about Black History and Reading skills!  There will be story telling, reading aloud, downloadable E-books, Black comics, and more!

Black History & Creative Writing Camp!

On Day 4, we turn our focus to Black History and Creative Writing!  Students will get the opportunity to share their voices, be creative, and learn new ways to express themselves from experienced writers and coaches in an interactive and fun environment!!

Friday, April 5th, 2024

Camp Celebration and Award Ceremony!

On Day 5, WE CELEBRATE!!  Every participant, full time and part time will receive a Certificate of Achievement for successfully completing all or a part of Uhuru Camp.  Those that successfully attend and complete all 5 days of the camp, will not only receive a Certificate of Achievement, but will also receive the prestigious "Uhuru Scholar" certification which validates your scholar as one of a select few young people in the world to successfully complete and master an Afrikan-Centered curriculum.
