Since 2010, The Uhuru Academy has not only provided children and adults with quality education in the DFW area, we've been able to promote and duplicate our brand of education throughout the country and abroad!  Whether it's the annual Afrikan Centered Education Conference, RBG Family Weekend, or the Community Kwanzaa Celebration, we've been on the front lines, thanks to your support, of the Afrikan centered education movement for the past decade!

In addition to great events, we've also been instrumental in training and developing Afrikan centered programs in other communities.  Some of the programs we have worked with/consulted include:

• The National Black Independent School Organization
  

The Uhuru Academy was recognized at the 2018 Black Power Awards for Community Education.  Our adult program has graduated hundreds of adults in the past five years.  Our prep academy boasts a 100% graduation rate among our seniors since 2014.  Our school has continued to strive amidst economic challenges, though the support of the community is still paramount to not only our survival, but to our success.  We are proud of the fact that we have taken the hard earned dollars of our supporters and used those funds to maximize our efforts in the community.  You will be hard pressed to find another grass roots organization as committed to investing in our mission like the Uhuru Academy!

We are a tuition-based institution, so of course we encounter families that struggle with tuition.  We also encounter young adults that are committed to getting their education, but don't have the funds to enroll in our program.  Your donation allows us to provide scholarships for families that are committed to Afrikan Centered Education and adults that want to reconnect to education, entrepreneurial, and employment opportunities.  Perhaps you are looking for a way to "give back" but you want to make sure your contribution has a direct impact on the lives of those we serve.  Well, donating to the Uhuru Academy is definitely a way to do just that!
