The Uhuru Academy has helped innovate, revolutionize, and re-introduce Afrikan-Centered Education to the masses of Black people over the past 13 years on several levels! K-12 education, adult education, teacher training, education technology, youth advocacy, community partnerships, family counseling, organization building, community organizing, hip-hop activism, Afrikan spirituality, and more! The past 13 years have been fascinating; we've learned so much about our people here and abroad. We've done it without attacking, putting down, or condescending others. We've done it with honesty and integrity. We know who we are and what we have, that's why we go so hard when promoting it. Now, we have a global network of beautiful and powerful Afrikan people that are ready to provide Uhuru Academy scholars with opportunities and resources.
We're not arrogant. There is still so much we need to learn and o many areas in which we need to grow. But the foundation for a generational institution has been laid, and it's been laid in a way that empowers US, that's you and me, to grow together. We have solutions for the "guttermost all the way up to the uppermost"! We sincerely believe that there is nothing wrong with us that what's right with us can't fix! We're proof that you don't have to step on, or criticize anyone when you're great. You don't have to compete, you don't have to compare, you just have to "be" and let the "bricks rise where they may". I'm on one today. I'm high on Afrikan-Centered Education and I pray that it never goes away! The beauty that we've seen over the past 13 years, the divinity that we've witnessed in our people while doing this work, has my spirit lifted higher than anyone can imagine. ASANTE SANA to everyone that supports this mission! Our love for our community knows no limits. PAMOJA TUTASHINDA!!
